FIVE REASONS

Just to get this all out in the open....
5 reasons you shouldn't vote for Obama

1) He just can't seem to keep his promises...

2) He has added to the deficit. But only by $5 Trillion. So it's probably okay.

3) He is "flexible"... or he will be after the election...

4) His pride and joy, PPACA, is doomed to fail, or make our country fail.....

  • It is going to cost somewhere between $1.74 and $2.5 TRILLION...
  • The cost will only increase as time goes on
  • We aren't hugely sure what exactly is IN the law...
  • Look at the EU. Most countries in the EU have huge socialized programs. The EU is currently falling apart. Not looking hugely fun to me. Look at India. They recently implemented free market and capitalist programs, and their economy has SKYROCKETED. I think I know which team I want to be on.

5) He can't seem to turn off the blame game. Every thing is Bush's fault. The deficit, the unemployment rate, the sinking mortgages. Unfortunately, blame can only take one so far. A lack of action on his part has not helped anything.

Hopefully we remember these fun videos when we go to the voting booths in November. Let's not give him the opportunity to screw us over more.

the end.

A Letter to the President

Dear President Obama,
I watched you Slow Jam with Jimmy Fallon. Cute. While you were doing that, we were paying $4/ gallon for gas, working jobs, and paying for our own student loans and fees. Because last time I checked, having your college paid for wasn't a human right, along with birth control, and health care. I chose to go the UW because the most we pay is $300 a month. Maybe, some of these kids should consider going to a more reasonable priced university. Right? Or maybe take responsibility for their own debt? I don't know. It makes sense in my head. I'm trying really hard not to hate you, but you certainly aren't "spreading the love". I don't know, but maybe if you cut down on your TV appearances, golf games, beer dates, and wussy calls to whiny girls, you would have more time to stop running our country into the ground. Although I guess that probably takes a great deal of time out of your day also. It goes without saying, you will certainly NOT be getting my vote in November.
President Obama,
Your actions in the last three years appall me. And I certainly don't buy your claim that you need four more years to keep all those campaign promises. I don't need to hear one more time that you are going to make life better for the middle class by instating socialist principles. Newsflash... capitalism and free trade are the ONLY way to stimulate and economy and boost the middle class. Please refer to the recent economic booms of China and India after the implemented free trade and capitalist principles. Also, adding $5 TRILLION in one presidency is not only disgusting, but irresponsible with the money and trust of the people you are supposedly representing.

One last thing... Stop apologizing for America. We are exceptional. We are the hope of the world. Some people love this country. Some of us are proud of what we are. You and your wife don't seem to feel the same way about this amazing country.

Take the hint. Pack your office. Go home. We are done.

welp, this gives me no hope for the future.

K y'all. This doesn't have to have anything to do with this stupid election coming up. This has only to do with the shenanigans concerning Ms. Sandra Fluke v. Rush Limbaugh. PLEASE BACK OFF. Yes, Rush screwed up. We get it. But take a look at what your million dollar baby does. Hopefully this video made you as pissed as I am right now.

(BTW's, I love Sarah. just saying)

Welcome to the Future

So I feel I now need to address these birth control shenanagains going on. Why? Well I'll tell you why. Because everyone now has the panties in a wad over something with a VERY simple solution.
Believe it or not, but it really isn't "Catholic Church v. Obama". Really, it isn't anyone v. Obama. It is just a matter of President Obama living up to the Oath he took January 21st, 2009. He said, I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. He said those words with his hand on the Holy Bible. That is pretty serious stuff. And now it is time for him to live up to that. Those words shouldn't be taken lightly. According to this oath, the President has one duty, one responsibility. To protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. And what is happening right now? It is being trampled on, all by one 1408 page bill called the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. (Why do I know that is 1408 pages? Because I carried those 1408 pages all over the US Capitol). Let's go through the Constitutional atrocities in this bill.

A) Individual Mandate
-Many feel this is unconstitutional because it extends past the reach of the commerce clause (which embodies the necessary and proper clause) of the Constitution. Basically, the individual mandate demands that every individual buys health insurance by 2014, or they face major tax penalties. The Commerce Clause basically states that Congress can regulate commerce between states. Many say that extending this reach to individuals is unconstitutional and infringes on the rights of individuals.

B)  Requirement for medically necessary abortions and birth control
    - Many see this as an assault on the First Amendment. Basically, it demands that all institutions (being required to provide health care) must provide these services. This makes many people angry. The Catholic Church has just been the most vocal about it. They say this infringes on the First Amendment rights because the Church doesn't support the use of contraceptives and is dead set against abortions. But it doesn't have to be a completely religious issues. The government has no authority to tell institutions to provide things that they are morally against.

Most people's aversion comes from the fact that they feel that the government is getting too close to them, trying to control things that aren't theirs to control. Government is getting too big. The Obama administration is setting its sights too close to socialism. I think we need to take a look at the sustainability of socialist programs. America is 15 TRILLION dollars in debt. We aren't swimming in cash. We can't continue to fund things like this, because eventually, we are going to run out of borrowed money . If we look at the Socialist countries in Europe now, we see that most of them are on the verge of failure. The Euro is failing. These countries are trying to provide everything for their citizens, which could be seen as a noble task, but it certainly isn't a sustainable one. I don't want to see America fail. I don't want to see these European countries fail. But they only way to fix it is for citizens to stop relying on their government to give them everything they need/want. The beauty of America is the fact that we aren't afraid to fight for what we need. We are independent.

I love that the majority of Americans CHOOSE to fight for what they want and need instead of waiting for a hand out. This is what is going to keep America from going under. There was a time for programs such as welfare. But this has turned into an entitlement program, a "I deserve this by essence of being alive" program. When in actuality, no one deserves anything for just "existing". I am in awe of the single mother working multiple jobs in an attempt to not take money from the government. I am disgusted by the college educated person who is too prideful to take a minimum wage job to make ends meet, so they feed off of government programs. Do what you gotta do without relying on someone to help you. Same with Sandra Fluke, who insists that other people should pay for her birth control. If you want it so bad, work for it. Georgetown doesn't owe you anything but the education you pay for. They don't owe you birth control. They don't owe male students Viagra (in the spirit of being equal). The world doesn't owe you anything, Ms. Fluke. Please stop trying to convince people that it does.

All in all, this isn't an issue about religion, or even the Constitution. It is an issue of this sense of entitlement that our generation has somehow gotten lodged in our brains. People think that the deserve something. Well, according to Thomas Jefferson (a pretty intelligent person in my opinion) all that is due to us is life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness. Not the means to life (although in the compassion of our hearts, we choose to help provide that), not the means to liberty, (but we also have the men and women in uniforms who choose to lay their lives down for it), or the means to the pursuit of happiness. If happiness to you is to lay around and have sex all day, fine. But you are NOT entitled to birth control and you are NOT entitled to leave the child that you may conceive on the dime of the American public.

Now I am done with my rant.

WHY WHY WHY WHY are people going to vote for him?

I honestly have so many things to say about this video. Starting with what the HECK!!! "African Americans for Obama"? First, let me start off with the comment: How is this NOT racism? Let's single out black people!! yeah!! That might just be the definition of racism. And please don't get me started on the fact that the description "African-American" is really more politically incorrect than the description "black" How many black people even identify with an African country anymore? My guess is not very many. A good chunk of black people in America are more American than the white people. And hey, let's just call it like it is. We are American. I know that that might offend some people, but as Laurel Thatcher Ulrich famously said "Well behaved women rarely make history." Being an American of any variety is frickn' awesome. I'm certainly not apologizing for it.

Next comment: "Everybody does their fair share..." Excuse me while I choke on the ice cream that I worked to buy. Now don't get me wrong I feel for the people who legitimately need welfare. But Mr. President, what about those low life bottom feeders who would prefer to exploit your precious system and NEVER DO ANYTHING. I feel like there is nothing "fair" about that. Mr. President, you would greatly benefit from a lovely saying my parents always told me, "fair is where you go to see the pigs." Seen any pigs lately, Mr. President? LIFE ISN'T FAIR! or a fair. Depending on how you want to look at it.

School Lunches

Fellow Americans....
Remember that beautiful time when we could eat basically anything we wanted for lunch at school. I remember days when I would bring carrots, apples, and caramel. And that would be the extent of my lunch. I would throw in a peanut butter and jelly sandwich every once in awhile. Or I would eat the lunch food at school that somehow passed for nutritious, but usually included some sort of chicken/filler rolled in bread with some raw cauliflower, frozen "juice" pops and jello. I think the sugar content exceeds the sugar I eat now. (If you know me, that is a crazy amount of sugar... oreos are a main staple in my diet). So delicious, right? Anyway, on to my point. The USDA has now taken it upon themselves to start inspecting the lunches that children bring from home to school. A 4 year old in North Carolina was not allowed to eat her Turkey sandwich, banana, potato chips and apple juice because this inspector deemed it not nutritious enough. Instead, they gave her a lunch of chicken nuggets. Because somehow, in the great scheme of things, breaded chicken nuggets are far nutritiously superior than a turkey sandwich. And get this, the cafeteria sent a bill home for the meal. Are you kidding me? I'm going to get all Constitution up in here. I do not recall anywhere in the Constitution where the Feds were given the power to tell us what to eat, or really anywhere that has anything to do with food... AT ALL. Which kind of undermines the ENTIRE USDA. Just sayin'. Hey, I like food that isn't going to kill me. I've read The Jungle. I know all about it. But come on. A turkey sandwich is not going to hurt a 4 year old. Come off it. This is just the next step to this thing we like to call a nanny state. My mom and dad raised me just fine. I don't need the feds telling me how to raise my kids in the future. But thanks.

Because this class just wasn't liberal enough...

So, I have made my sentiments known about this lovely class titled "Cultural Diversity in America". Firstly, I would like to point out that it is incorrectly named. It implies that we discuss Culture. That is definitely not what we talk about. Mostly, it is a guilt trip to a bunch of white college kids about how we have somehow oppressed colored people by essence of our whiteness. A more correct name for it would be "Racial Diversity in America" or "Racial Oppression in America" or better yet "How Everything is the White Person's Fault and Victimization Leads to the End of Racialization." But that is probably too long for the course catalog. What really got me today was her 15 minute lecture on the proper way to take notes in her class. Yes, she now is dictating how we should take notes. Because, somehow, we were intelligent enough to get into college, but somehow, we can't manage to write down what she puts up for us on slides. So now, I am racist and unintelligent. Good to know.

Oh, and a shout out to the awesome kid who sits behind me in that class. I say, "because this class can't get anymore liberal..." and he says "I totally agree with you". I'm glad not everybody thinks I'm crazy.

I love to hear your feedback! Please don't hesitate to comment :)

Much love,
Abbs
